Castle of Parga

The castle of Parga is found on the top of a hill overlooking the town and was used to protect the town from the mainland and the sea.

Its present form is the result of the major reconstruction at the end of the 16th century.

Acheron River

The triumph of Love over Death: Orpheus, son of the muse Calliope, was devastated by the death of his wife Eurudice. With his weeping lyre he achieved to move the king and queen of the dead, Hades and Persephone, and won himself a chance to claim the blossom of his heart back from the Kingdom of Silence. To do so, he had to cross the Acheron River, the watery border between Life and Death.

Valtos Beach is the largest beach in Parga with 3 Km coastline. Located just under the impressive rock that is built the castle of Parga.

Sunrise House is a family business hotel located in the old town of parga next to the castle. From April 1989 we have continously accommodate thousents of visitors. Our goal is to keep our customers happy and provide them a high standards of service in the best price.

Lovely place to stay if you visit parga.
If you get one of the views with a sea view, the views are lovely.
A short walk from the castle and Valtos beach and a short stroll to the main area of parga.
The walk up and down to the accomodation has quite a few steps and ceratainly kept me fit but totally worth it.

The location is excellent: Valtos beach is very close (about 10 minutes climb and descend), Castle of Parga at two minutes, port promenade area also close. The room was very clean; very friendly and hospitable hosts, including gifts for us: excellent pastries home made :). We felt fantastic! We had a room with a balcony to the inner alley and is was also very pleasant: we enjoy looking at the shops and people walking very close to us

The location is fantastic. Half way up the steps and with a beautiful view. Alice the owner and her husband are very nice people and make sure you have the best stay possible. You have a restaurant next door that opens at 10:00, so if you are a late riser you can get your breakfast there. Otherwise you have a communal kitchen just outside your room. Every room has a fridge inside the room.
